This sample was created by layering short, improvised passages on a yamaha psr-275 into a boss dd-20 in sound on sound mode. Loop was played into a boss me-30 on harmonizer and pitch shifter settings, processed in real time, then faded out. Audio was further processed in goldwave (compression, added hiss, vibrato, etc. ) to give it a more believeable "old vhs tape" sound. I cut it to only include the most convincing segment of audio. (it's not perfect, but it's only an emulation!) 24 kbps, stereo.

Deep and dark sci-fi background noise that could fit a movie space ship, e. G. In the warp drive chamber. The actual sound source is a gas stove that has been recorded using a fostex fr2 recorder and a pair of røde nt5 mics in x/y positioning. This is a gurgling sound i created by accident. It's a short clip from the "new dimensions in sound (1957)" public domain clip from the prelinger collection at archive. Org. Specifically, i used this line: "as the record plays, the needle wiggles. " cut out the first part, made a loop of "the needle wiggles. . . The needle wiggles," and lowered the pitch with reapitch by two octaves. This was the result.

Recorded at close proximity with a sennheiser 416 microphone, to a sound devices 552, in a residential, fully attached house, with minimal noise and background but natural ambience and reflection, from a large (bed)room.

Blip trails: c2 note, random blip sounds with fast attacks and short trails using massive. Sampled into ableton with just a touch of reverb to help the trail smooth out, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random parameters in massive, and very little other effects used. Originally recorded for a short film where one of the characters takes an off-screen bath. Recorded (if i remember correctly) with a sennheiser mkh-416 microphone into a sound devices 302 mixer.

Short recording of me walking to the roof of a warehouse near the los angeles area. You can hear the wind and my foot steps on the the steel roof access staircase. Once on the roof we hear a turbine vent squeaking and an aircraft flying overhead, as police sirens pass by.
